The Beginning

Let me tell you a bit about my Tai Chi and Qi Gong background. I started practicing Tai Chi and Qi Gong almost two decades ago, in 2005, at a local school in Quebec City, Canada. I wanted to give myself the possibility to enjoy a healthy life for as long as possible. I didn’t know much about Chinese martial arts back then, but I had the feeling this would be the solution.

Wudang, My Roots

After a couple years of training, I decided to go learn from the source, so in 2009 I headed to Wudangshan, China. There, I met who would become my master, Sifu Yuan Xiu Gang, at the Wudang Daoist Traditional Kungfu Academy. From then on, I would go to Wudangshan for a few months, then come back and practice for a year or two. Then go back, revise everything I already knew, learn some new stuff, come back and practice for a year or two, etc. I was reaching levels of flexibility, athletic performance, health and peace of mind that made me very happy and fulfilled. I felt very little tension in my body and in my mind.

My Practice

My perspective is pretty simple. It’s all about consistency and discipline. No matter your level, you will get much better if you are consistent and disciplined, there is no secret. Theory is great and can be helpful, but in my opinion, it is not that important compared to just practising, especially for beginners. I keep my teaching simple and efficient.
